Saturday November 26
Feigan signing in….
Playing the early slot for me means I get to have smashingly good amounts of
beer for the night – wasn’t I glad when I scored the 8 – 10 slot! 70 odd peeps
where in early to enjoy the canapé’s & champagne to celebrate the 2005 Glasson’s
Xmas party – What a bunch these girls turned out to be, all I can say is that
they where up for partying and I have never ever seen more enthusiastic dancing
to Lionel Ritchie in my short clubbing career. Things where proceeding along
swimmingly, and I had the pleasure of sharing the early part of the evening with
Mr Jason Kelton – sipping on shots and generally telling dirty jokes till Jono
Fernandez & Co. showed up and more dirty jokes where told over several more
Asahi’s.
It
was a different sound last Saturday, which I think suited the room well and held
strong throughout the evening – a few new faces joined us in Lucas Mayne & Mike
Steva, and we welcomed back the ever impressive Mr Baz Emera tothe Beat Suite to
bless the wheels of steel with his graceful vocal house sound – much to the
delight of the ever excitable dance floor.
TKO
took us through till the wee early hours of Sunday morning once again, but
unfortunately, the beer had gotten the better of me and I didn’t get to catch
Theo’s set this week. Theo actually took me by surprise when he told me he was
only 21 the other night & he;s only being playing for 18 months – Fark me, look
out Melbourne! Anywho – Phil Hartnoll is on this week – should be a crazy show
once again. Get bizzle and come partay in the Beat Suite with us
That’s it. Have a good one

SIGNING IN....
Booty
Shakin...... thats what the flyer said and that’s what the punters got....
I
arrived nice and early @ Room on Saturday night and mingled in the Main Room for
a while where Steve Bleas was mixing his usual fantastic blend of solid house
and electro tech.... but right on 11 the Beat Suite opened and my crew and I
moved in.
We
were welcomed by smooth beats from TKO, who moved from nice booty house through
to some more driving stuff.... apol's to the West Coast House and Booty heads
who thought it would be house all night... we need some synths! hehe. Joel
Williams tooks to the decks after TKO... and moved some Hip House and some
chilled electro through his 1.5hr slot... tight mixing and fun music really got
the Beat Suite happening....
TAHL
was up next..and it is very hard to write about what you thought of yourself....
so I will just say.... god DAMN thats some funkin booty music.... hip house and
some old classic funky house was my agenda... including the old favourite -
MADAN! Following myself was my special guest DJ for the evening, his second
spin in the Beat Suite.... DJ NACKERS. This guy is one hell of a DJ, a
distinctive West Coast / Boompty Boomp style of house and one of the best in
Melbourne.... Baby Got Your Money by Kelis and ODB was the highlight for me and
much of the crowd.... Nackers kept it shaking right up until one of the masters
made a welcome return to the Beat Suite.
Keltec was up next and he ROCKED IT... for a solid 2 hours, right up until
7am... dropping party breaks and booty electro and house.... and the best of it
were his own bootlegs.... one to mention.... PLAY by Jennifer Lopez (where is my
copy Kelly!) which has been turned into one hell of a clubby / breaks and
electro mix... Big Ups to the Keltec.... lets hope he is back much sooner than
later...
Till
next week.... TAHL OUT.

Ze Beat Suite
Hello
peeps -
crazy
night again - I can usually judge how good the night was by what time
I
stay up till on Sunday morning, it was pretty late and I was drinking
again
early afternoon, so needless to say I rated it. Jimmy Danger - the crazy man
with the big tattoo! From all reports Jimmy set the tone perfectly for the Beat
Suite's proceedings for the evening - he's an ever exciteable fella, and he'll
be
back
on again at some stage soon, so keep your eyes out for next time he's on!
AG
Ren with live drums - perfect for a Saturday night session! AG's been smashing
things lately, and his name has been popping up more and more around town - come
see AG & I at cushion lounge on Sunday afternoon, we'll be kicking things off at
5 and heading through till late.
TKO -
The man with the big tunes! Quality dirty electro rollers and even a dabble of
Da Hool and a dash of Papa was sweet as as the evening ventured into the wee
early hours of Sunday morning. Things closed off in the main room around 5 when
TKO was finishing up which was lurvely for Nicholas & I to take over from Theo
to close things out.
We
mixed things up a little and pulled out some old favorites for old time sake. It
was wicked fun closing things out with Tahl - he's the jock that is on the pulse
with tunes, if you want fresh up front house & electro, catch one of his sets at
Room, Bamboozled or @ Tiga on Friday night - guaranteed aural pleasure.Things
had quietened down a touch as we neared 6 so we shut up shop and headed on home.
Booty
house on next week with Keltec, Nackers, Tahl Vs Rowie, Joel Williams & TKO. I'm
away so I'll miss the festivities, but this has all the signs of being a piss
cutter of a night
That'll do for tonight - have a good one and catch us for drinks when your at
Room next!

Guten
Aben Beaten Suieten!
Vie Gehts Du?
Everyone seems to be going German soulful minimal crazy of late – why not join
in the chorus
Woh is de Bahnhoff bitte?Ok enough German dribble – here’s the wrap up
It was another lovely evening in the Beat Suite this week – things have been
moving and shaking in the Beat Suite camp of late.
Kicking off this week was up to yours truly, starting proceedings at 1.00 we
introduced a nice low key funk work up to set things up for the infamous TKO who
has been smashing things lately in the Beat Suite.
TKO – renowned for his tasty dirty electro sound had the Beat Suite posse
rocking and or rolling from the word go! TKO has been a great inclusion into the
mix lately and we will be sure to be seeing more and more of Theo as we progress
towards Christmas period.
TKO took things through till 4.00 when he handed the reins to the ever reliable
Tahl & Rowie. These two are like bi carb soda & vinegar. Put em together and
they explode. Well not literally, but you get my drift. Rowie –
the ever flexible musical man and Tahl, the charismatic electro super jock took
things through till stumps in the usual Beat Suite fashion – delivering a tasty
mash up of all things house & electro.
This week sees the old fashioned return of the Feigan Vs Tahl closer – these are
the doozies you don’t want to miss out on .We’re on @ 5.00, but we also have the
dynamic duo of Dbl Storey & Fusion, manic crazy man AG Ren, new comer Jimmy
Danger & TKO.
We’re all set for another monster in the Beat Suite – come and join us for a
regular old Smash up!

In
Feigan's absence Tahl is signing in for the Beat Suite this week....
Well it was up to TKO to start procedings in the Beat Suite this
week, and warm it up nice and toasty is exactly what he did, with some warm
Ibiza styled electro that worked really well with the ladies.. Then it was an
'Up and Coming Force to Be Reckoned with' Matt Peri to take control of the
wheels of steel. Now I like my electro and house dirty and dark and sexy and
Matt's music was all of that an more, MP had the crowd going into a frenzy by
the time he
finished.
AG
Ren and his fellow team of live bongo musicians took to the stage, always like
watching AG play, great energy, great crowd reading as well. He mixed up funky
breaks, house and a smidge of electro in his 1.5hr set, dropping new big tracks
such as the new Electric Press EP. Now I had the hard task of following on after
AG, and try as I might the crowd did thin, I scratched, wound back and looped my
arse off but it seemed many people had spent a long day @ the races drinking and
so we closed the Beat Suite (sniff sniff) at an early 4:30am.
This
will not be the case next week as the Beat Suite massive is back in full effect
with Rowie and Feigan back on deck. Until then.... be good (insert evil laugh).

We had a crazy birthday week in the Beat Suite this week, Room’s all round great
bloke Mark had the front room cooking early in the piece while we celebrated my
lovely ladies birthday in the dining room listening to the celebrious electro
main room sound through resident jock’s Steve Bleas, Mark James & Ivan (I know a
good marinade) Gough.
1.00 came around which cued us to make the forward move to the Beaten of
Sweeten. Baz Emera was finishing up and had a nice warm cosy Room rocking away
when we walked in. Rowie & Tahl where on deck for a four hour of power
session. The lads have been rocking thing steadily week in and week out lately –
you’ll be sure to catch the troublesome two at any number of venues around town,
anyhow, things finished up pretty early when the lads closed up
shop @ 5.00.
I’m out @ Beats Working this week, Tahl, Rowie & Co will be rocking the
Casbah post Bamboozled on Friday night.
Until next week….

Spontaneous was the flavour of the night last Saturday, I started proceedings
with the Sancho @ 3.00 in the afternoon with a few relaxing Saturday afternoon
lagers and proceeded to a school reunion in Richmond, moved on to the Lithuanian
Club in North Melbourne to catch Arj Barker’s last show (Very funny guy!) and
then high tailed it to Room to arrive to a
nicely filled club.
Ag Ren jumped on deck (almost literally) at 1.00 and warmed an ever ready crowd
with a smashingly good mix up of breaks & house – this fella has some quality
goodness in his crate at the moment and it’s a treat to see him in action on a
regular basis in The Beat Suite. Anywho – after many lagers and back and forward
dancing I stepped in to take over from AG who was well
ready to spend some well earned quality time with his good friend the bar.
A bit of a mixed bag this week – a bit of 4 x 4 has
creeped into the case lately and I followed on AG style for a while before
dropping a couple of lovely new breaks tunes I picked up @ DMC last week.
Stantons new tune Pop ya Cork & The Evil 9 remix of Freeform Five’s new one –
much fun was had, especially by me and the amount of Asahi bottles that where
starting to pile
up next to me. Enough was enough as I tumbled out of the console and gave up the
head phones for James.
Rowie showed up and put forth a solid Rowie set – a crazy sound has been coming
out of the sound system lately when he’s in charge. Taking things through till
5, Rowie was a weary little fella after doing the Bamboozled Volume double on
the weekend so he retired to the bar for a warm down session, but not after I
made him play I’m a Man of constant Sorrow Skeewif
tune – sorry Rowie, had to be done.
TKo came and drove the morning bus home – kicking things off early with the
Soulwax remix of Dare (I think – don’t quote me as Asahi bottle 10 or 11 had now
piled up) and took the club home to 7. He’s taken the closing set on
with ease over the past couple of weeks – it’s the perfect way to finish things
up!
Anyhow – that’s the tall and the short of it – come and see us next week as we
welcome Tahl back after a 2 week hiatus which has involved interstate travel and
GK responsibilities.
You might have heard Harley & I on Kiss on Friday night aswell filling in for
Andy Van & Cam Denney’s Vandalism TV radio show. Not sure when we’ll be on
again, but we’ll keep you posted on when to tune in.

Another solid affair in
the Beat Suite this week with the birthday celebrations of the wonder kid known
as AG!
We kicked off
proceedings on a nice housey tip this week – The Birthday Boy & friends smashed
out a quality set of all things House. On a quiet note – the young jock that AG
bought down to warm the crowd rocked it out to all reports. Given that the young
fella has only been spinning for 6 months, he’s looking @ a quality future given
his level of talent!
Anyhow, on with the
show. AG – hats off to you again mate on a great Bday set – AG’s been going from
strength to strength since he returned from his OS trip recently – must have
something to do with the ridiculous amount of money he spent on vinyl over
there!! AG set things up with a solid dance floor for the ever reliable Rowie.
James presented himself once again and took the reigns from AG, who had built a
lovely dance floor for the Bamboozled head honcho. Rowie yet again, raised the
bar with his eclectic mix of house and electro that had the majority of the
front room beggin for more and more, until he finished and yours truly stepped
up to the plate.
A slight move in audio
direction led us to the infamous broken beat – my favourite! Lots of fun party
breaks followed with a slight move back to the ever reliable 4 x 4 sound that’s
been emanating from the Beat Suite of late. TKO was next on the list and we
needed to get our latest recruit back to his 4 x 4 homeland to close out
proceedings.
TKO and I played versus
for a little while until he grabbed the console by the balls and went nuts with
a perfect closing set for the front room – I was a wee bit weary come 6am so I
didn’t catch the tail end of proceedings, but from all reports – TKO took things
through till the wee hours of Sunday morning and peeps where still up for more.
Next week sees Tahl
out of action @ Gods Kitchen – so we’ll be ramping things up a notch while the
young cat is away with our trademark blend of booty shakin, baby makin, cake
bakin funk fuelled audio delight!
So - Come get bizzle
in tha beat suiteizzay
Yeah yeah - bad izzleing on my part! I just wanna be cool like all the other blingbangizzle
posse!

SEPTEMBER 24

Tahl signing in for the absent Feigan this week – the slack prick was off
somewhere else for the night!
Anyway…Whether you’re a footy head, you don't care about the grand old game or
you enjoy the non busy shopping of the last Saturday in September - Grand Final
day is a super special day in the Melbourne diary.... and a great night in the
beat suite followed aptly...
Arriving @ Volume quite early on Saturday night and headed into the Beat Suite
to have a few starters... Fusion was playing his funky mix of 4x 4
electro/house; the ladies seemed to enjoy this boy’s taste in tunes quite a
lot! Enter our new front room hero - TKO.
I was very, very impressed with TKO's set a
couple of weeks ago in the Suite of Beat, even though he said he was a tiny bit
off that night (21st birthday alcohol syndrome), so I was looking
forward to round 2 of TKO (no pun intended). With tight mixing and great track
selection he had the floor cooking in no time, dropping electro house re-works
of the new Whites Stripes track amongst other dirty synthed out house numbers….
I spent most of the time leading up to AG Ren's set chatting with the bloke -
the natural energy in him is something special
… always smiling and eager to get behind the decks. With his hands in the air
and some great facial expressions the boy killed it, a mix of booty Breaks and
House was in order.
I disappeared for sometime into the main to do the 4 - 5:30 slot, but as I have
much faith in my great friend Rowie and his musical expertise... I dashed into
the Beat Suite too see how he was going. I was pleased to see his trademark
eclectic sound was getting great reactions from the punters left @ 5:30....
Feigan’s back next week, so be prepared for more shenanigans!
Track of the week - White Stripes Booty - dropped by TKO
